Too much crazy

source

"Too much crazy" - this is how my colleague Carles describes work at the moment. We are understaffed and overworked, and everyone feels the strain. This week I worked two double-shifts in a row and packed enough hours to fill 6 days into 4, and because Leo is shooting at night, he does not get home before I have to get up for work again. Today is the first day we actually got to spend time with each other in a week, and tomorrow we are going climbing! Ever since he fractured his toe / work started taking over my life I've been having a bit of a hard time at the Arch...I realized that having Leo there to give me feedback and tips on technique had really pushed my climbing, and not having him around made my weekly sessions seem like a bit of a chore, especially since they usually fall on my only day off. But now that he's back in the game maybe I do stand a chance to climb a V4 before I leave London.

On mornings like these

On morning like these, when I am stuck in jam-packed traffic going absolutely nowhere, I miss being able to walk EVERYWHERE. Or at least ride my bike without getting crushed to death underneath a lorry. I think as of tomorrow, I will bite the bullet, shell out an extra tenner a week and ride the train rather than the bus into work. London traffic man >_<

Pho-ntastic

Today I went for a climb at the Arch, then picked Leo up from work and headed to Soho. We had originally planned to go for Japanese Udon at Koya but they were closed so we settled for pho at Viet Pho on Greek Street instead. This joint is completely unassuming in terms of interior but their pho is the business. Nothing better than hot beef broth with heaps of coriander, vietnamese mint, fresh lime and chili sauce to warm you up on this crazy windy day in the city. I have a feeling I'll be back very soon...

6 weeks

6 weeks until my time here London comes to an end. Our landlord has decided to increase the rent and given us until June 15th to either accept this fact or move out, and since nobody in the house wants to pay that amount, we are all going our seperate ways. Leo is off to Australia via Thailand on June 23rd anyway, so instead of sticking it out on a friend's couch until July, I am booking myself a flight back home two weeks earlier than planned to hang out with friends and say my goodbyes again as I prepare for the next adventure. What shape or form this adventue is going to take I do not know yet; I am currently applying for a job in Seoul that I would seriously LOVE to get, but if that falls through I am going to spend some time in Hong Kong / Vietnam / Thailand before entering Australia on a work & holiday visa. I know, I know, I am repeating myself but I definitely need some hot weather. I guess I'll just have to hang on in there.
