this thursday our friend bryony organized a british christmas feast! complete with party crackers, party hats and party poppers. heaps of joy! the dream team loved it.

the awesome blob that is christmas pudding. after we got home we fell into a food coma and collectively slept. them british folks know how it's done.
today we went to see bill clinton receive his honoris causa!
we were mighty exited.
bill gave a nice speech.
afterwards we enjoyed a spontaneous caroussel ride. because this is how we roll!

explored the city...
stumbled over "interesting" shops
didn't drink coca-cola...
posed with stuff they put up for the china expo...
hung around...
didn't get lost because of my amazing german map-reading skills...
found the venetian...
and enjoyed the circus! we were wowed like children and watched with our mouths open.
all in one great day. lovely.

once we had dropped off our luggage, we headed straight for the world's tallest bulding - taipei 101.
we then went to shiling night market where they had a temple...
...and yummy beef noodles!

on day two, we visited long shan temple.

...tofu crumbs in honey-soy-sauce, prwan noodle soup and sauteed spinach.
on day three we headed to juifen despite rainy weather.
this old japanese settlement inspired the movie "spirited away".

on day four, we went hiking, saw the city from above and tea plantations.
